The "Journal of Balkan Economies and Management" (JBEM) respects authors' copyrights, allowing authors (or their employers) to retain copyright over their articles. Instead of copyright transfer, authors are required to grant JBEM permission to publish their work under the https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/ license. This policy ensures that all articles, irrespective of the funding source, are published as open access, allowing reuse under the terms specified by the CC BY-NC license.
Under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/), authors retain copyright of their published works, permitting sharing, copying, reproduction, and adaptation in any format for non-commercial purposes. Authors must agree to the following terms when submitting their manuscripts:
- The submission is original, not plagiarized, and not under consideration elsewhere.
- All authors have meaningfully contributed to the research and approved the final manuscript.
- The manuscript respects the copyrights of other entities.
- Authors grant JBEM the right to publish the work and recognize it as the original publisher.
- Authors allow third-party use of the article as long as proper attribution is given.
- The license does not affect authors' rights to protect the integrity of their work.
- Commercial rights of the article are retained by the authors.

The unrestricted dissemination of research is especially important for authors, readers and funders.
