Copyright and Open Access Policy

Copyright

The "Journal of Balkan Economies and Management" (JBEM) respects authors' copyrights, allowing authors (or their employers) to retain copyright over their articles. Instead of copyright transfer, authors are required to grant JBEM permission to publish their work under the https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/ license. This policy ensures that all articles, irrespective of the funding source, are published as open access, allowing reuse under the terms specified by the CC BY-NC license.

Under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/), authors retain copyright of their published works, permitting sharing, copying, reproduction, and adaptation in any format for non-commercial purposes. Such uses must include appropriate credit to the original work, indicating if changes were made but not in a way that suggests the licensor endorses the use.

Copyright Agreement Upon Submission:

Authors must agree to the following terms when submitting their manuscripts:

  1. The submission is original, not plagiarized, and not under consideration elsewhere.
  2. All authors have meaningfully contributed to the research and approved the final manuscript.
  3. The manuscript respects the copyrights of other entities.
  4. Authors grant JBEM the right to publish the work and recognize it as the original publisher.
  5. Authors allow third-party use of the article as long as proper attribution is given.
  6. The license does not affect authors' rights to protect the integrity of their work.
  7. Commercial rights of the article are retained by the authors.

Open Access Licence: CC BY-NC

JBEM embeds licensing information directly within its articles, promoting clarity in user rights and copyright ownership. Committed to the Budapest Declaration on Open Access, JBEM ensures that all articles are accessible to anyone without charge under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license. This approach supports the unrestricted dissemination of research, benefiting authors, readers, and funders alike.

Open Access is the availability of publications online to everyone free of charge and with few restrictions on reuse. The unrestricted dissemination of research is especially important for authors, readers and funders. Articles published in the JBEM are published as open access under the https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/ licence. The JBEM believes that for open access to work effectively, user rights and copyright ownership through licensing must be clear. The JBEM is a signatory to the Budapest Declaration on Open Access.

We publish all our articles under ( https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/). The CC BY-NC licence is indicated in the articles. The full texts of all articles published in the JBEM can be accessed by anyone via instant open access viewing at the JBEM.
